Second in the line up. Good slow build creeping dread. At a few point I was pretty sure I was getting warp looped. Got lost, got spooped, considered pausing to scribble a map. Good job duder, keep it coming.
This game has a fantastic style. I also played The Witch OF Sherdorne Forest not knowing it was by the same developer but when I loaded the game I immediately realized it had to be by the same dev. Good scares and good atmosphere.
I played the Witch one first, then I liked it so much I came to this. It has a bit less going on, but as scary as the other. I see that this came first, so I have to say you improved! I hope to see more from this lore =D
2nd Game in the video by the way, I was scared the entire time not knowing what was gonna pop up.. the ending got me again!! Loved the game great work!
I recently played the first game and decided to play this immediately after. I love the addition of a lantern! Like the first game, the audio in this game was amazing. I was freaking out so much, haha. I hope you make another game that's a bit longer and has more than one ending. I would definitely like more endings to discover :). Overall, great game.
Opening sequence is oddly tedious and long. Wish I could skip the walls of exposition.
The models of people in the beginning are rather peculiar, though it may be stylistic.
I really like the pixelmapping’s appearance. It fits the style of the game very well, and I think it is executed quite serendipitously.
Floating Lantern. Odd but… charming, in a way.
The beginning being a vague maze feels unnecessary, but wasn’t particularly difficult. Neck is not fond of mazes, and additionally there was no challenge in the brief segment, making it feel rather unnecessary.
The move speed in the game is surprisingly reasonable. It doesn’t feel like I’ve broken out into a sprint, but it also doesn’t feel like I’m dragging my feet. The voices enjoyed the pace the gameplay moved at due to this.
Interactions with objects seemed a bit slow and finnecy, though it is a nice atmospheric touch.
Long staircases are long
The jumpscare at the end was actually really good. It got all of us and neck rather startled.
The blood basin altar thing prior to the ending seemed like a missed opportunity. Perhaps we missed something, but from the looks of it it didn’t provide much.
Overall, really good for a first ever horror game. It fits the theming of atmospheric horror and doesn’t go overboard with the fear factor. Well done!
