Opening sequence is oddly tedious and long. Wish I could skip the walls of exposition.
The models of people in the beginning are rather peculiar, though it may be stylistic.
I really like the pixelmapping’s appearance. It fits the style of the game very well, and I think it is executed quite serendipitously.
Floating Lantern. Odd but… charming, in a way.
The beginning being a vague maze feels unnecessary, but wasn’t particularly difficult. Neck is not fond of mazes, and additionally there was no challenge in the brief segment, making it feel rather unnecessary.
The move speed in the game is surprisingly reasonable. It doesn’t feel like I’ve broken out into a sprint, but it also doesn’t feel like I’m dragging my feet. The voices enjoyed the pace the gameplay moved at due to this.
Interactions with objects seemed a bit slow and finnecy, though it is a nice atmospheric touch.
Long staircases are long
The jumpscare at the end was actually really good. It got all of us and neck rather startled.
The blood basin altar thing prior to the ending seemed like a missed opportunity. Perhaps we missed something, but from the looks of it it didn’t provide much.
Overall, really good for a first ever horror game. It fits the theming of atmospheric horror and doesn’t go overboard with the fear factor. Well done!
ima be honest,, i like it the only thing in this game that i don't really like is the first optional scare. imo it didn't really need that and it lowers the tension for the rest of the game, and it makes the game look a little bit immature, takes one out of the great atmosphere of the game the rest is pretty amazing, actually the style and design is great, the atmosphere is very dense (except the optional scare), and the ending is the cherry on top for your first ever horror game this one is exceptionally good.
just played ur sequel btw you hold back with the scares in it, so the atmosphere was even greater. you already improved. awesome job my guy, awesome job. keep up the great work!!
I included this in my latest 3 scary games video, and this was a really cool game! The exposition at the beginning makes me wonder if a larger project might come out with the world set up in this game.
A nice, atmospheric entry into the horror genre with some good spooks. I actually played through 3 times to see if there was another ending, but I couldn't find one
This game was awesome, checked it out for a recent Itch.io horror pack video and we loved it. Wish it could have been longer but for what it was it had a great feel and style to it with some fun scares. Happy to have checked it out :)
To say that I have played al ot of these super-short games that are essentially just about leading the player to an end goal where they meet whatever will kill them would be understating it. That is not to say it is a bad thing, mind you, just that I see it a lot.
And here, I see it done very well. From the beginning with chanting people praying for your safety as you are lowered into the dungeons, and the minutes you spent feeling a bit lost in there and to the big scare, things ooze with a specicic, dour atsmohpere that I really appreciate.
Simple and effective. These are the key words to describe this game for me. I really think that you nailed the atmosphere with the graphical style, sounds and ambience. The game is simple in the way that it doesn't require that many elements to scare the player, since the atmosphere does all the job.
I'm a huge fan of atmosphere-focused horror, and I think this game is a really great example of this. Keep up the good work ^^

lo disfrute muchoI included this in my latest 3 scary games video, and this was a really cool game! The exposition at the beginning makes me wonder if a larger project might come out with the world set up in this game.

Good horror game 10/10. the creature did spooked me so hard that it is good, wasn't expecting to be kill that quickly.
Пиздатая игра. Напугался - пиздец. Чуть не обосрался и не умер
I enjoyed playing the game. It's short, entertaining, and gave me a good amount of freight. <3
I made a short play-through (9:29) with no commentary if anyone wants to check it out.
